Let’s look to the 20th century portion of the Modules for this Discussion. Select one of the following to compare and contrast:
#1. An artist from the Dada Movement with an artist from the Surrealist Movement. Discuss the artist and the artwork as well as the art movements. Discuss similarities and differences. Embedded images are required. Choose an artist that hasn’t been chosen yet (you can’t ALL choose Dali!). Don’t limit yourself to men, we have women in both movements who made notable contributions.
OR
#2. An artist from the Futurist movement with an artist from Cubism (note: there are two different types of Cubism – Analytic and Synthetic Cutism – know the difference!). There are fewer choices in Cubism but enough works of art in both movements to provide lots of interest. Very few women in these two movements. (note: Futurist movement was an Italian movement). Discuss what the Futurists were trying to achive and what the Cubists were trying to achieve. Be specific with your artist and artwork chosen.
