“Memories are not always reliable.” This is truly a statement that has many deeper implications than one might often realize. Just ask anyone who has served time for a crime that he/she did not commit. In fact, due to recent advancements within this area, it has been discovered that eyewitness accounts of certain crimes cannot always be trusted. How often do you think eyewitness testimonies are inaccurately recalled? Should more weight be placed upon physical evidence than testimonies which are shared in open court? Is it possible to truly repay someone who has been falsely convicted of a crime due to memory error?
