The ramifications of prohibition on American society

There is a distinct difference between deviance and crime. While the two are separate, they can mirror many components in the field of criminal justice. However, for you to understand how crime works, you must be able to apply theoretical application to practical experience. In the early 1900s, the sale of alcohol was illegal. Although illegal, many individuals still tried to produce and sell alcohol. To help combat the push for the sale of alcohol, Congress passed legislation to prohibit the sale of alcohol, which was known as the period of prohibition. There still continues to be a debate questioning if prohibition was an effective approach in stopping the sale of alcohol. However, in the end, the prohibition on alcohol was repealed due to deleterious effects associated with the overall rationale for no alcohol consumption.

Write a 4- to 5-page report in a Microsoft Word document explaining the ramifications of prohibition on American society from 1920 to 1933. In addition, don’t forget to incorporate the difference between crime and deviance.
