Topic: Artificial growth hormone in foods

1.    Formulate a tentative Statement of the Specific Purpose of your informative speech.

2.    Formulate your tentative Thesis Statement to summarize what your whole speech is going to be about.

3.    Sketch out four or five Main Points that you are exploring as part of your ongoing process of research for your speech. Each main point should be enumerated with Roman Numerals.  (Note: You will likely not cover all of these main points in the five minutes allotted for your speech. At present, you are exploring possible main points that you will subsequently narrow down to two or three main points for the speech itself.)

4.    Develop and outline at least two Subpoints for each of the Main Points. Your subpoints represent the division of each main point into subsidiary points that you will cover as you amplify each main point.

5.    Identify which Pattern of Arrangement you will likely use for your outline.

6.    Formulate an initial plan for your introduction. You may either write it out or describe your tentative plan for the introduction.

7.    Formulate your initial plan for concluding your presentation. Be sure to explain how it will achieve the functions of a conclusion that are discussed in Chapter 6.
